Akasaka Stage 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' Christmas tree-lighting ceremony reveals that Mikiji Ishimaru as 'Harry Potter' will appear until mid-July 2023 and that Osamu Mukai's last day on stage will be Wednesday, 31 May 2023.

25 Nov 2022 (Fri) Stage Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Akasaka Sacas Square, Tokyo.

Mikiji Ishimaru and Osamu Mukai appeared in front of the Christmas tree in Akasaka Sacas Square, dressed in the blue suit costumes they actually wear as Harry Potter in the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The Christmas tree in Akasaka Sakasu Square is designed & decorated in the motif of the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The ornament is based on the four Hogwarts Schools of Witchcraft and Wizardry and is studded with clocks, gears and other ornaments that remind us of time, which also plays an important role in the stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Looking at the Christmas tree, Harry Ishimaru said, "I thought that if I touched the gears, I would immediately go to another space. So I'm not going to touch it (laughs)".

Harry Mukai also commented, "I felt a sense of familiarity with such a large original tree, following the world of the stage in this way." Harry Mukai commented.

Stage Harry Potter announces that performances will continue beyond June 2023.

Mukai and Ishimaru thanked the assembled audience for the positive reception of the play and announced that the stage Haripota will continue to run from June 2023 onwards and that tickets are now on sale.

In the stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, several parents and their children are on a journey through time and space, searching for their love for each other. Since the opening of the show, performing in front of an audience has added new excitement, and the younger generation in particular has been showing their gung-ho personalities. As the Company gains momentum, I will enjoy the experience of making progress day by day, even though my time in the company will only last until mid-July next year.

Even those who have seen the play in a novel or film will say, "Oh, that's what happens to those people!" and "I want to see it again". Please come to the theatre and experience the magical world.

Stage Comment by Osamu Mukai as Harry Potter.

The stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a daring and delicate play with very high hurdles to overcome, so there is a sense within everyone of having to clear these hurdles one by one each time, and I feel that the company is like a comrade-in-arms.

I will be playing Harry Potter until the end of May next year. But will I have more than six months from now or only six months from now? Every day I am chewing over this precious experience as I play the role every day.

No matter how many times you see this play, you will discover something new. We want as many people as possible to experience that moment. We, the entire staff and cast, will always continue to provide those moments that can only be experienced on stage. Please come and see us at the theatre.
