The Hogwarts Great Hall on the Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo is a faithful reproduction of a film set and is as realistic as the film itself! The Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo's Hogwarts Great Hall is a replica made by the same crew who created the filming sets and props for the Harry Potter film series.

Let's start with the scene where you enter through the great door of the 'Hogwarts Great Hall'!

The Great Hall of Hogwarts is located in the large doorway that Harry, Ron and Hermione and their friends passed through many times in the Harry Potter film series. It is that door to the Great Hall that was so exciting when it appeared in the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Enter the Hogwarts Great Hall film set on the Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo through this door. It's very exciting and thrilling.

In fact, the doors to the Hogwarts Great Hall can be opened by us guests. The studio tour staff (interactors) will ask for people who wish to do so. The requirements for those who can open the door are those who have a birthday or anniversary today. If not, it is the person whose birthday or anniversary is this month. Those who wish to open the door of the hall should be at the front as much as possible, so that they will stand out. (You may be more likely to be guessed...)

Long tables and long bench-type chairs in Hogwarts Great Hall

In the scene from the film Harry Potter, there are four tables for each of the four dormitories in the Hogwarts Great Hall. The direction of the row is from the entrance to the Great Hall in the direction of the professor's table. Both novice and geeky Harry Potter fans dream of sitting in these chairs and eating at the long tables.

The uniquely shaped Hogwarts spoons, knives, forks, plates and goblets on the teagle are the same as those in the film.

The flooring in Hogwarts Great Hall is made of real Yorkstone.

| Hogwarts Great Hall, Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo [Hidden Spot] [Detailed Report] Commentary Former site of Toshimaen

Harry Potter Studio Tour The flooring on the Hogwarts Great Hall film set in London was made from real York stone (stone) used in construction.

This is why they have withstood 10 years of film production and have been in practical use since the start of studio tour operations. It is also made of real stone, so it looks and sounds realistic. They say that a typical film set would be made to look realistic by using simple, inexpensive materials and painting them, but they are not durable.

And the Hogwarts Great Hall on the Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo is also elaborately recreated to the same level, using real Yorkstone (stone). You can feel the hard floor when you walk on it.

The four dormitories compete for points per dormitory throughout the year. An hourglass-like indicator shows the current scoring status. Points are added for good behaviour, while points are deducted for bad behaviour, and the glass beads of the dormitory's symbolic colour are increased or decreased. The winning dormitory is awarded the Dorm Cup at the end of the term. At the start of the new term, the lower glass is empty (as each dormitory has 0 points) and only the upper part is filled with stones.

[Hidden spot] Beautiful stained glass windows and symbols of Hogwarts and the four dormitories Hogwarts Great Hall, Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo [Hidden spot] [Detailed report] Description Former site of Toshimaen.

The stained glass windows in the Great Hall are beautiful. In the centre of the stained glass are the symbolic animals of the four Hogwarts houses: the Lion, the Badger, the Snake and the Great Crow, with the oriental version of Hogwarts' symbolic animal, the Dragon, on either side.
Note that you can only stay in Hogwarts Great Hall for about 10 minutes, so if you only admire the stained glass, you will not have time to see the other exhibits.

Hidden spot] The ceiling of Hogwarts Great Hall in the movie studio.

[Hidden spot] Ceiling of Hogwarts Great Hall in the movie studio|Hogwarts Great Hall, Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo [Hidden spot] [Detailed report] Commentary Former site of Toshimaen.

The ceiling of the Hogwarts Great Hall on the Harriotta Tour Tokyo is the point at which you really get a feel for a film studio. In fact, the ceiling of the Hogwarts Great Hall at the Leavesden Studios in the UK was similarly bare with scaffolding for lighting. The fact that the Harry Potter film series used CG to make the ceiling look like a magical ceiling with floating candles and projected stars in space is a great behind-the-scenes commentary on film production. (Some guests, unaware that the Studio Tour Tokyo is an exhibition of film sets, leave nuanced reviews about the bare ceiling of the Great Hall, which is a shame as the production was so cut-throat.)

The ceiling of the cinema hall changes from day to day: some days the sky is magically starry, others stormy, others snowy, others cloudy on a moonlit night.

The studio can only build sets up to the height of the building ceiling, so the ceiling is bare of lights and studio ceiling. The magic ceiling in the film is represented by CG.

The point where the Hogwarts crest is designed near the beam ceiling is noteworthy!

It has appeared in seven of the eight films in the Harry Potter film series. Starting with the Sorting Ceremony on the day of the boy Harry's first visit to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Great Hall also appears in the final eight films before, during and after the final battle of Hogwarts. It is one of the most featured locations in the Harry Potter films.

Hogwarts Great Hall - Points to note when visiting

After entering Hogwarts Great Hall, visitors are not allowed to leave the entrance doors. (In London this was only possible during dinner events).

The experience of passing through the large doors into the Hogwarts Great Hall is a one-off on a single studio tour.

The stay in Hogwarts Great Hall is time limited, lasting less than 10 minutes, and you can only visit once (after leaving the Great Hall you are free to go on your own).

There are other [hidden spots] and exhibits in the Hogwarts Great Hall of the Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo that we would like to introduce. We will introduce them in due course.
